Discipleship

Growing in Christ,
Together

Most parents don’t just want their kids to get good grades — they want them to grow into kind, grounded human beings who live out their faith. That kind of maturity doesn’t happen overnight, and it certainly doesn’t happen by accident.

At Litchfield Christian School, discipleship isn’t something we squeeze in between math and lunch. It’s the heartbeat of everything we do. From how we start each morning to how we handle conflict, we’re shaping more than just minds — we’re shaping hearts, habits, and the kind of character that lasts a lifetime.

What Discipleship Looks Like at LCS

Morning Formation & Code of Conduct

Each school day begins by setting the tone with character development, behavioral expectations, and reminders of our shared calling. These aren’t just rules — they’re rhythms. Daily reinforcement helps students understand how to love their neighbors, protect one another’s dignity, and pursue a life that honors Christ.

A Christ-Centered Classical Curriculum

Whether students are reading Homer or solving equations, they’re encouraged to seek what is good, true, and beautiful through the lens of Scripture. Our classical curriculum emphasizes wisdom and virtue, preparing students to think deeply, live faithfully, and lead well.

G.R.A.C.E. Conflict Resolution

Students learn to handle conflict in a way that restores rather than divides. Using temperament-based classroom management and biblical counseling principles, we guide students toward emotional awareness, reconciliation, and healthy communication — skills they’ll carry for life.

Weekly Chapel

Every week, our community comes together to worship, memorize Scripture, and hear truth taught clearly and compassionately. Students learn to pray, sing theologically rich songs, and grow in their understanding of the gospel side by side with friends and mentors.

Quarterly Community Service Projects

Faith comes to life through action. Each quarter, students step into real needs, from supporting food shelters to helping lead Vacation Bible School. These experiences show students what it means to be the hands and feet of Jesus in the real world.

Litchfield Christian School has been such a beautiful blessing to our family. LCS is a Christ-centered school that challenges students academically, nurtures their creativity, promotes a positive learning environment, and contributes to their spiritual growth. LCS is very supportive, and they encourage their students and their families. Our daughter came into LCS completely broken and empty. Public school had taken a drastic toll on her mental health. She had pleaded with us for over a year to homeschool her. We were at a loss. Our daughter is a very social person, and we knew she needed more. We decided to check out LCS as an alternative. From the very moment we stepped inside LCS, we could see and feel the genuine love. EVERYONE felt as if they belonged. Before our day of observing was over, she had asked if she could please come to LCS. She was smiling and said this place is my kind of place. It's definitely been just that!

Today she is thriving, and she is truly enjoying herself. She loves to go to school, and she loves all of the teachers. She has made good friends and is blossoming in all areas of life. She's even started singing on stage during chapel. This has been the best decision we could have ever made as parents for our daughter. We are incredibly thankful for this opportunity in our hometown, and we truly appreciate that LCS offers grades K-12. How blessed we are to be a part of Litchfield Christian School. We look forward to many more amazing years here.
